A RECORD number of young musicians thrilled audiences at the Shoreham Allstars end-of-term shows on Thursday (March 28).

A total of 50 young people, aged from eight to 15, performed in two sessions at The Ropetackle Arts Centre.

The Shoreham Allstars took the stage by storm in front of a sold-out crowd.

The collective, now into its fifth year, has more than 50 young people as members and all of them were at the venue playing a selection of their favourite cover songs, plus original songs they have spent the last two months writing.

David O’Connell, director of the Allstars, said: “It was a fantastic show with some children doing their first-ever live gigs alongside the more established Allstars bands really going for it.

“These kids have a busy year ahead with a lot of gigs and recordings coming up and judging by this show, they are they are definitely ready to rock!”

Most of the Allstars live within a couple of square miles of each other, and the majority live on Shoreham Beach.

Some of the Allstars also performed at St Paul’s Centre, in Worthing on Good Friday.
