Vachery Triathlon organisers are seeking to reassure local residents about the event, coming up on Sunday July 21.
The event’s swimming section will take place in a lake on Vachery Estate, near Cranleigh.
However, competitors will take to the public roads for the cycling and running stages.
Race director Mark Davis hopes to reassure people that the road closures need not stop them going about their business.
