A VERY special concert by The Hanover Band, one of the finest period instrument orchestras in the country, will be held at St Andrew and St Cuthman Church, in Vicarage Lane, Steyning, on Tuesday, May 21, at 7.30pm.

Directed by Andrew Arthur (pictured), the band present Baroque Splendours for a Coronation, with music by Boyce, Pachelbel, J.S. Bach and Geminiani.

Soloists will be Andrew on harpsichord, Joel Raymond on oboe and Madeleine Easton, an award-winning Australian violinist.

The Hanover Band, based in Arundel, has an international reputation for the excellence of its performances and recordings of 18th and 19th century music.

This performance, staged in partnership with the South Downs National Park Authority, is part of a tour presenting baroque music in the most beautiful churches across the Downs. The Steyning church retains splendid 12th century bays in its nave – an ideal setting.

Tickets are £15, £10 and £5, with under 21s paying only £5 for a £15 ticket.
