A bicycle leasing company founded in Bolney, reported to be the first of its kind in the UK, has plans to recruit up to 100 freelance bike mechanics as part of a major customer service drive for the business.

The Bike Leasing Company (www.bikeleasingcompany.com) which helps make high-value mountain, hybrid and road bikes more affordable already has 20 nationwide mechanics to deliver and fit new bikes.

But with demand expected to increase through spring into the summer, anything between 60 and 100 mechanics will be required.

Paul Mander-O’Beirne, founder of The Bike Leasing Company, said: “Leasing bikes is a new way of purchasing.

“We have worked hard to build a new bike retail experience.

“We hope we’ve got the balance right between value, convenience and free advice and consultation service to anyone choosing a bike through our website.

“An important part of our overall service is our personal delivery and bike fitting service. And that’s where the bike technicians come in.”

Bicycle technicians interested in delivering and fitting bikes should have a track record of outstanding bike repair.

Successful applicants will be placed on the company’s official roster with preferred status when it comes to the fitting and maintenance needs of customers in their geographic location.

The Bike Leasing Company will also need extra support to deliver its bike maintenance service.

Interested applicants can contact the company via the website at www.bikeleasingcompany.com

The company recently confirmed new manufacturer deals with BH Bikes, Forme and Hersh. Despite only launching in 2011, the company has already established a portfolio of over 1,000 bikes.
