A MAN fell unconscious on a fishing boat 16 miles south of Shoreham Harbour.
The Shoreham RNLI all-weather lifeboat was launched in thick fog on Thursday at noon following reports of a man who had become unconscious on a 12-metre angling boat.
Another passenger on board, who was an accident and emergency nurse, was treating the casualty while awaiting the lifeboat.
The man recovered consciousness before the lifeboat arrived but two members of the RNLI crew boarded to assess the casualty when they pulled alongside.
He and his son were transferred to the lifeboat and the crew monitored him during the return journey to Shoreham.
He was then handed over to an awaiting ambulance and taken to hospital.
