A MAN was seriously injured during a collision with another vehicle in Crawley yesterday evening (Tuesday February 28).
Police are now appealing for information following the incident
It took place at 6.40pm in Wentworth Drive at the junction of Balcombe Road.
A green Vauxhall Astra, being driven by an 81-year-old local man, turned into Wentworth Drive where it collided with a silver Vauxhall Astra, being driven by a 56-year-old woman from East Grinstead, waiting at the junction.
The green Astra then partially left the road and struck a tree and the driver suffered serious injuries. He remains at East Surrey Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the silver Astra was uninjured.
Officers investigating the collision are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the green Vauxhall Astra being driven in Balcombe Road prior to the collision to contact them on 101 quoting Operation Aberdare.
