Police are trying to trace a man who armed himself with a pair of bolt cutters and walked into a store in Worthing yesterday (Wednesday November 21) morning and stole two iPhones.

The suspect entered ‘Cash and Cash Express’ on Montague Street at around 10.15am, asked to view two iPhones and then took out a pair of bolt cutters from his back pocket which he then used to threaten staff with before making off with the phones.

Detective Constable Ali Hutchings from West Sussex CID said: “This was a brazen act and fortunately none of the staff in the store were physically harmed.

“We will be continuing with forensic examinations, viewing CCTV and making local enquiries with nearby businesses.

“I would appeal to anyone who has not yet come forward and has information that could help us to locate the suspect to please get in touch.

“Also, if you have been offered an iPhone and are concerned of its origins then please call 101 quoting serial 361 of 21/11 or you can leave a message anonymously with the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

The suspect is described as black, 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in of average build and was wearing a black shinny cap, grey puffer jacket over a grey hoody, blue jeans, and multi-coloured Addidas trainers.

The bolt cutters are described as having a blue handle with black metal parts.

The stolen iPhones are:

1 black I-phone 5 16GB IMEI 013349007550821 worth £519.

1 white I-phone 5 16GB IMEI 013405000815437 worth £509.
