A man was assaulted in an unprovoked attack in Crawley last week.
Between 9pm and 9.30pm on Wednesday (2 January) the incident took place opposite the Co-op in Langley Parade.
The victim suffered a cut to the knee and was hit several times to the face, causing a bloody lip, after he was attacked whilst he sat on a wall.
A 30-year-old man from Reigate, Surrey, has been arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm and has been released on police bail until January 29 pending further enquiries.
A police spokesperson said: “This was a totally unprovoked attack on a man who was minding his own business. He was left with some nasty injuries and we’re keen to trace anyone who saw what happened. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting serial 1372 of 02/01.”
