Police are appealing for witnesses to an unprovoked attack on a 45-year woman between 4pm and 5pm on Tuesday November 27 while she was walking her own brown and white Staffie cross Jack Russell dog in the alleyway that runs alongside King George’s Field off Felpham Way in Felpham.
As her dog went into the field the woman was grabbed from the side by a man, causing scratch marks to her neck area and pain to her wrist caused when she fell down.
Her dog went for the attacker and chased him off.
The woman was very shocked but did not need hospital treatment.
The suspect is described as being white, of medium build, about 5ft 6in, with an unshaven face and wearing dark clothing with his hood up.
When the dog attacked him the victim heard him shout out in what sounded like a foreign language.
Sergeant Jo French said; “The motive for this isolated incident is currently a mystery. Our enquiries are continuing to identify the attacker and local officers have carried out additional patrols in the area.
She added; “If you witnessed this incident or have any information that may assist our investigation please contact us on 101 quoting serial 1167 of 27/11. You can also call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
